Modern Orthodox · Jewish Teen Travel
June 28 – August 10, 2027. South through Atlanta, west to LA and San Francisco, through the Rockies, and back home. For teens going into 9th and 10th grade.
Our Mission
Coast to Coast was built for Modern Orthodox teens who want to experience Jewish America at full depth—davening at shuls from coast to coast, spending Shabbat with Orthodox families in communities they've never visited, and discovering that the Jewish world is bigger and more vibrant than they ever imagined.
From June 28 to August 10, 2027, teens going into 9th and 10th grade depart from Englewood, NJ and travel south through Philadelphia, D.C., Charlotte, and Atlanta—then west through New Orleans, Texas, the Grand Canyon, and on to San Diego, LA, and San Francisco—before looping back through Salt Lake City, Yellowstone, the Dakotas, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, and Cleveland to come home.
"Jewish identity isn't inherited passively. It's discovered on the road, around a Shabbat table in a city you've never been to before."
Every aspect of the trip is designed for shomrei mitzvot teens—glatt kosher food, Shabbat in Orthodox communities, daily minyan, and a fully halachic environment throughout.
A rabbi travels with the group for all 44 days, leading shiurim, davening, and meaningful reflection sessions every single evening.
Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, Crater Lake, the Grand Canyon, the Space Needle—America's wonders woven throughout every week of the journey.
Volunteer projects in cities across the route—giving back to both Jewish and broader communities as an expression of Torah values, not just an activity.

What Makes Us Different
Everything is designed for shomrei mitzvot—glatt kosher, Shabbat in Orthodox communities, daily minyan, and a halachic environment from Englewood to LA and back.
A rabbi travels for all 44 days—leading shiurim, davening, Shabbat, and nightly reflection at every stop across the country.
Intentionally small cohorts so every teen is known, heard, and genuinely cared for by staff every single day of the trip.
Every week ends with authentic Shabbat—with local Orthodox families, shuls, and Chabad houses in a brand-new city.
Service projects in Cleveland, Albuquerque, Houston, San Francisco—giving back as a Torah value, woven into the route.
Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, Crater Lake, the Grand Canyon, the Badlands—awe-inspiring America is part of the Jewish journey.
Fully glatt kosher from Englewood to San Francisco and back—with hotel kitchen access for Shabbat prep and kosher communities in every major city.
Structured absorption time every night—shiur, breakout sessions, journaling, or group discussion to process each day's experiences through a Torah lens.
Who We Are
Max's vision for Coast to Coast traces directly back to founding Camp Segal and building Jewish community from the ground up. He grew up in Bergen County, NJ—deeply rooted in the Modern Orthodox world—and was shaped by programs exactly like this one. An entrepreneur with a track record of starting and scaling organizations, Max brings a deep personal network and a long-term vision: growing Coast to Coast to 150–200 students across multiple routes crisscrossing the country.
Ben runs the operational backbone of Coast to Coast—hotel contracts, bus logistics, kosher catering coordination, laundry stops, and everything that makes a 44-day cross-country trip actually work. With deep roots in Jewish camp culture and youth development, Ben ensures that every logistical detail is locked in so that teens and staff can focus entirely on the experience.
Jess is the engine behind the scenes—the person who keeps every moving part of the program humming. As Associate Director, she is Max's right hand, overseeing day-to-day program coordination, staff communication, and participant experience from application through the final Shabbat. Her attention to detail and deep care for teens makes Coast to Coast feel personal at every step.
Our rabbi travels with the group for every one of the 44 days—leading morning davening, Shabbat services, weekly shiurim, and nightly reflection sessions. More than a religious leader, the rabbi is a pastoral presence and mentor who builds real relationships with each teen on the trip, helping them connect their experiences on the road to their Jewish identity and values.
From Our Community
I came home knowing there are Orthodox communities everywhere—in South Dakota, in New Orleans, in Montana. Coast to Coast changed how I see America and my Judaism.
As a Modern Orthodox parent, I was worried about keeping halacha on a 44-day trip. They handled every detail—glatt kosher, Shabbat, minyan. My son never compromised once.
Davening at the Grand Canyon at sunrise with the whole group. Shabbat in Chicago with a family who'd been there for generations. I'll never forget what Judaism feels like out there."
